Andi Metzel began her term as president of the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) for 2017-2018 at the Association’s annual meeting, held September 29th in Indianapolis. As president, Andi represents the single largest legal organization in the state of Indiana. She has been an active member of the ISBA for nearly 20 years and has held various leadership roles during the course of her membership.
As a partner at Benesch, Andi focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, including shareholder and corporate governance disputes, fraud, RICO, land use, construction, shareholder derivative suits, business torts, supply chain, class actions, product liability, trade secrets and non-compete disputes. She represents both corporate and individual clients in federal and state courts and before local and state administrative bodies and agencies. She has extensive experience negotiating resolutions in complex business, personal and transactional matters and is involved in many aspects of development and strategic consulting for businesses seeking to invest and grow in Indiana and around the United States.
Andi strongly encourages a cooperative dialogue among government and industry leaders and is actively engaged in the ongoing effort to enable businesses to succeed in a competitive global marketplace.
Andi received her B.A. in political science and philosophy from Franklin College in 1991; studied international relations and politics at Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada; studied at the United Nations while attending Drew University; and received her J.D. from the I.U. Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1996.
